Grayson Dare Homes Custom Home Building Process

Questions? We Have Answers.

Building a custom home or undergoing a substantial renovation can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. At Grayson Dare our customers leverage the experience and expertise of our incredibly experienced staff to eliminate even the most complex design/build issues.

What services do you provide?

First and foremost we are a design build company, building in Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, and surrounding areas. That simply means that we take your ideas for a new home or renovation and translate that into reality. From site selection to cost estimation, from plan design to finish selection, and ultimately from warranty service to our long term relationship, Grayson Dare is here for our customers.

What does design / build mean?

Design / build means that Grayson Dare Homes creates unique and personalized custom home plans for our customers. It seems that most builders want to call a home “custom” just because it has expensive features. At Grayson Dare, your home truly will be a custom home. It will be your one of a kind home, designed for just the way you live and just the features you want.

How long will it take?

Typically for a new home, the process from initial meeting (Including design) to completion is 6-7 months. This can be affected by design complexity, budget constraints, finish choices, and as always….. weather. For renovations the answer is much more complex. Depending upon the scope and scale of the project, completion times can range from a few weeks to months.

How much will it cost?

The cost for new home construction is dependent upon far too many factors to give a simple answer. The basic answer is land cost + construction cost + commissions + builder profit = sales price.
Costs for renovations vary dramatically.

Do you provide a warranty?

Yes. Grayson Dare Homes provides an exceptional warranty program, with a written warranty that exceeds industry standards.
